Veolia Energie: Výstava současného umění v kancelářích

Praha, Ostrava · 2026-09-01 – 2027-01-15

Welcome to a unique fine art exhibition organized by Veolia Energie ČR, which this time is not taking place in a traditional gallery, but directly on the premises of our Ostrava and Prague offices.

About the Art Initiative

The artworks exhibited in the shared office spaces are not merely an aesthetic enhancement of the modern working environment, but represent Veolia’s deeper commitment to employee care, the development of corporate culture, and social responsibility. Through the Artist’s Hero platform, Veolia brings contemporary art closer to its colleagues with the aim of creating an inspiring working environment that opens up new topics and perspectives, cultivates aesthetic sensibilities, and supports mental well-being. At the same time, by renting the artworks, we help artists communicate their perspective on important social and personal themes, reach new audiences, and financially support the domestic art scene.

The exhibition titled Pulse of Change, featuring over 30 artworks by 7 Czech and Slovak artists, can be seen in the Ostrava and Prague offices in the Legatica building from September 1, 2026, to January 15, 2027. You can admire the exhibited works in various common areas, including hallways, kitchenettes, and meeting rooms.

Pulse of Change Exhibition Annotation

Exhibiting artists: Petr Gruber, Anna Kyjovská, Vlastimil Nenadál, Stanislav Ondruš, Samuel Paučo, Antonie Stanova, Tereza Tomanová

The works in the Pulse of Change exhibition present the work of seven Czech and Slovak artists, capturing various forms of change and transformation. The exhibition connects figural worlds, landscape motifs, and gestural records of temporary moments.

The artists focus on the relationship between inner experience and the outer world, which they convey through symbols, fragments of nature, colors, movement, or personal mythology. The "pulse of change" in the works represents the flow of energy – sometimes calm and contemplative, at other times intense and expressive. Diverse authorial themes bring motifs of a changing landscape, symbolic figural compositions, abstract and gestural records, or work with the elemental symbolism of simple shapes.

The exhibition creates a space for perceiving the world as an unstable organism in which individual stories, nature, and memories are in a constant process of formation. The exhibited works oscillate between intimate and romanticized moments, an atmosphere of silence and deceleration, as well as visually striking and color-intense compositions.

Petr Gruber

Petr Gruber

visual artist, painter

The paintings of Petr Gruber (born 1989 in Havlíčkův Brod) exist on the boundary between individual memory and universal visual experience. His canvases do not stem from a description of reality, but rather from its internal imprint—from moments that settle in the memory as atmosphere, light, or the tension between the present and recollection. Painting does not function here as representation, but as a medium of time. A fundamental element of Gruber’s work is color. He treats it not as a descriptive tool, but as an autonomous bearer of meaning. He creates complex color gradients and transitions of light that construct the pictorial space and determine its emotional temperature. These "climates" are not illustrative; they act as fields of focus where the viewer moves between recognizability and abstracted perception. The captured situations feel like suspended events whose narrative remains open-ended. Gruber’s paintings do not lead the viewer toward a definitive interpretation, but rather offer an experience of duration: the gaze plunges into the depth of space, traces the tension between light and shadow, and lingers in a constantly shifting moment. Light—whether implying a daytime or nocturnal scene—serves here as a structuring principle of the image, as a bearer of a memory layer that transcends a specific place and time. Petr Gruber lives and works in Prague. From 2008 to 2014, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, first in the studio of Prof. Zdeněk Beran, and subsequently in the studio of Prof. Jiří Sopko. His work has long engaged in a dialogue with the contemporary international painting scene, where painting is understood as a critical, autonomous medium capable of articulating the experience of the present.

Vlastimil Nenadál

Vlastimil Nenadál

visual artist, painter

Vlastimil Nenadál is a contemporary Czech painter who lives and works in Ostrava. He is a graduate of the Painting I studio at the University of Ostrava, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Daniel Balabán. In his work, he focuses on intuitive painting, subliminal visual perception, and the symbolic use of natural motifs, particularly plants and organic structures. His paintings oscillate between dream and consciousness, spontaneous gesture and rational composition. Through imaginative landscapes and metaphysical motifs, he opens up themes of memory, emptiness, the human inner world, and the relationship between nature and the human psyche. A characteristic feature of his work is the engagement with chance, from which concrete forms bearing existential and symbolic meaning gradually emerge. In his paintings, he creates a visual space where intuition, personal experience, and reflection on the relationship between man, nature, and the inner self intertwine. To date, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and contemporary art festivals in the Czech Republic.
