Capexus: "ART WORKS" Exhibition

Entitled "ART WORKS", the exhibition aims to show how art works. How it qualitatively elevates the modern working environment to a new level, supports mental well-being, and introduces new themes. Just as a good cup of coffee at work can invigorate the body, quality art can refresh the soul—stimulating the intellect, evoking emotions, and opening up discussions.

About the Exhibition

The pop-up exhibition "ART WORKS", organized by Artist's Hero in cooperation with CAPEXUS (August 24 – October 12, 2023), presents the work of six prominent Czech artists within the context of a modern working environment. The sensitive installation of their artwork, set within an already unique interior design, completed the almost poetic genius loci of their Prague offices.

Dana Bartoníčková, Anna Ruth, Pavlína Kvita, Monika Žáková, Petr Hajdyla, and Adam Vačkař are already established artists of the younger and middle generations, and it was our honor to exhibit a selection of their work. The artistic portfolio of 25 pieces was curated by Anna Pulkertová, an expert in art collecting and investment. The opening event on August 24, 2023, also featured a panel discussion on the role of art in the workplace, a guided tour, and a musical performance by Anna Ruth.

Although the exhibition was temporary, you can still experience it through a virtual tour.

Anna Pulkertová: Curatorial Selection

Guest curator Anna Pulkertová has focused on artists who stand out not only for their academic backgrounds, successful exhibitions, and collector interest, but above all for their strong artistic identities and diverse approaches to creation. Each of them works with different mediums and distinct themes, which is also reflected in the overall dynamics of the exhibition. This diversity perfectly complements the varied design of the office spaces and demonstrates how art can enrich the working environment not only aesthetically, but also intellectually by introducing new themes.

Why Art in the Office?

Workspaces are a living organism—the body of an organization—evolving as its people evolve, both in quantity and quality. By the way, did you know that we spend an average of an incredible 39 years in the office? So why not spend that time in an inspiring and highly welcoming environment?

Art is precisely the element of interior design that can support mental well-being through the depth and timelessness of its aesthetics, stimulate creativity by pulling people out of well-worn routines, spark discussions, and thus contribute to shared experiences, richer relationships, and ultimately, better work results.
